The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2025) in Dhahran from May 4 to May 12, 2025. This prestigious event will be organized by the Ministry of Education and the Mawhiba Foundation, with sponsorship from Saudi Aramco. It will feature participation from 30 countries across Asia and Oceania.
The Kingdom’s hosting of this significant annual Asian science competition for the first time reflects its dedication to nurturing talent and creativity, fostering science and innovation, promoting academic and scientific excellence, and enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and international position in the scientific and educational sectors. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which seeks to establish a knowledge-based and globally competitive society.
Over 240 talented secondary school physics students will participate in the 25th edition of the Olympiad, which will feature both theoretical and experimental competitions, spanning a week filled with scientific and cultural activities.
The Asian Physics Olympiad serves as a leading platform for honing scientific skills while fostering critical and creative thinking among exceptional students. Participants undertake a challenging five-hour examination that includes both practical and theoretical components in a highly competitive environment.
